WARNING!  Regarding the Use of Peoples General Maps in Campaigns

A Panzer General II snow map cannot precede a Peoples General snow map, or else the campaign will crash. When working with non-snow maps, however, I did not notice any compatibility problems. An example compatible sequence is a Peoples General (PeG) snow map – a Panzer General II (PGII) snow map – a PeG non-snow map – a PGII non-snow map – and back to a PeG snow map.

The best way to determine if maps are compatible is to, first, create a mini-campaign. Know which maps you are going to use, and then, put them in the sequence you want while keeping in mind, my caution above. Put in your core units and give the computer (AI) an anti-tank gun located far from the victory hex. Use only one victory hex on each side, and at this time, do not give the AI a supply hex. Run through your mini-campaign, and save it each time before you take that last victory hex. If you get no crashes, congratulations, your map sequence is fine. If you get a crash, then replace the suspected crashing map, reload the last saved campaign, and play-test it again until you get a map that works.

Testing map compatibility by creating a mini-campaign will save you the disappointment that I went through with my creation of The Lumberjack Regiment. Besides, you may have fun running through the mini-campaign like I did! J
